The City of Perth is working with the Central Metropolitan Police to help reduce business related crime. Business Beat is a set of resources which have been developed to help traders to improve safety, prevent crime and reduce the negative impact on their business.

Snr Constable Frank Bell from the Central Metro Unit said “shop lifting, burglary, raids and property damage add significant costs to business. These new resources provide advice on measures that businesses can take to reduce opportunities for criminal activity.”

The kit includes a safety and security audit checklist and information sheets on cash handling, shop-lifting and hold up precautions and crime prevention through environmental design.

Community Safety Officers from the City of Perth and Western Suburbs local governments have worked together with the WA Police Crime Prevention and Community Liaison Unit to produce these valuable resources which include:
